Extra hour?!?

10/31/2004

I am feeling: Dumb!

Ok…am I the only one who forgot about the time change and got up early? I was visiting a new church today and at first I thought I was late for the second service, then I realized that I was half way into the first service! Since I only got half of a sermon, I decided to go check out another church downtown. It actually turned out to be a blessing that I forgot to change the clocks! The first church was ok, but the second one I visited ROCKS! The music was really great, they had an awesome message, and the people were really friendly. I think I will start going there for a while and see if it might be the church for me. Who knows?!

Ripped off of an hour,

Vin

Daddy’s Gone

10/31/2004

I am feeling: it, feeling it, feeling it yeah!

Hola!

It has been a while for me, I must admit. I have been a very busy boy! This morning I took my dad to Portland to catch a plane back to Canada. It was awesome having him down here for a couple weeks! We had a blast! On Thursday we went down to the Republican Headquarters and made some phone calls. We were given lists of registered republicans, but occasionally we would receive the odd Kerry supporter. They were pretty quick to cuss us out. But I guess that goes with the territory!? Although havind dad here was fun, I am glad to have my apartment back (most of all my bed!). I think I slacked a bit on the studies while he was here…but nothing that I can’t recover from. I should hit the hay now. Church in the morning.

Peace be still,

Vin

Watch This

10/27/2004

One of the lines in the documentary talks about this film being able to finally show people the honor and dignity the soldiers had as they faught for us. Little did they know that that hope was in vain beacuse people of the likes of John Kerry and his Goons have silenced once again the voice of truth.

Stolen Honor,

Vin

Roadtrip!

10/27/2004

I am feeling: a sharp pain in my side!?

Man o man! I had a sweet time this weekend! As you know from my last post, my dad and I drove down to Cali this weekend. Well, it started out with a 10 hour drive (which was fun), then we crashed at a Howard Johnson for the night.

In the morning we thought it would be fun to go on a little adventure since we had the whole day to ourselves. My dad had this great idea that we should go spend the day in San Francisco, so we started off bright and early and got to SF before noon. I was pretty excited to go there, since I have never been there b4. It is a really really cool place!

When we finally made it, we drove around for a while and took some pictures. We decided to head down to the warf and cruise the shops down by the water. It was a pretty cool experience! There were all sorts of street performers from a Mexican flute player, break dancers, and even a “burping ballerina”…don’t ask.

We stumbled upon this really neat old fire truck, and as we were admiring it, we noticed that they were actually doing tours on it. Being the “Wild Men” that we are, my dad and I scored a couple of tickets and set out for a pretty awesome adventure. We drove through the “touristy” parts of San Francisco and Salsalito. We got to drive over the Golden Gate Bridge, we saw Alcatraz, saw the only federal “pet cemetery” in existence, and just had an overall good time.

Monday was pretty mundane. My dad got his MRI, and then we drove home. It was pretty rainy on the way back, but we’re troopers.

Here are a few pics of the trip

Sippin’ on tequila night after night…

I am feeling: Random

Today my dad and I decided that we are going to California for the weekend. He found this place that can do an MRI on his back, so we decided to make it a road trip out of it. I haven’t really done anything random in a while. And that’s weird, because I am quite a random guy most of the time. I guess being here with no close friends yet makes it a little tough. Anyway…we are leaving tomorrow morning for Stockton California. It is about 9 hours away. It should be grand!

Maybe I will post from Cali and let you know what’s up.

Adios,

Vin

I am feeling: Curious

I don’t know if this will work. I am trying to post a couple songs of mine for y’all to download. If it works – great! And if not…well then I’ll probably delete this post. So what I am trying to say is: If you’re reading this it probably worked :P

Supersize Me!

10/18/2004

I am feeling: barfy!

Tonight I watched the movie “Supersize Me” for the second time with my dad. It is so crazy! This Morgan dude goes on a month long Mc-diet! All he eats for 30 days is Mcdonalds food. If you haven’t seen this movie, it is a MUST-SEE! It is unbelievable what happens to this guys body in just a month from McDonalds alone! In 2005, the leading cause of preventable death is not smoking (which it has been for ages), but obesity! This movie puts some pretty serious things in perspective! We are killing ourselves in America! “Supersize Me” adjusts the lens from our narrow focus and allows us a glimpse into the super-giant that is “fast food”. I really think this is an important movie to watch (plus you’ll get a few laughs in). You can check out the site here: http://www.supersizeme.com

I hope you like it!

Daddy’s coming!

10/16/2004

I am feeling: EXCITED!

I am just about to head out the door to go to the Porland Airport. My dad is flying in from Calgary and he is gonna chill with me for a couple weeks. That should be really fun! I miss my family lots, so it will be nice to have a piece of “home” here with me. If you don’t know him, my dad is one cool dude! He is 66 now! Man that’s getting up there :) But at least he’s still got his hair! That means I have good genes!

Up up and away,

Vin
