So I sold my couch and now I need a new one. That is a little bit of a task! I want to find one for a good price, but I don’t want a junky used one…you know?
Church in the morning – That should be good stuff! I think I am going to start attending Salem First Baptist. It is a big church (bigger than what I would like ideally), but it is really solid theologically. I also might have some opportunities to minister there too! It should be pretty awesome! Since I have been here (5 months-ish) I haven’t led worship or a Bible Study or anything…so I am hurting to get plugged in somewhere!
I got a plane ticket for San Antonio for spring break! That is gonna be an awesome trip! I am soooooo excited for that! There are so many people that I haven’t seen in so long. Bill (one of the Pastors at my Church in SA) said that he is gonna get me to lead the Sunday School for the Jr. & Sr. High. It should be a blast! I miss all those guys so much!
Well…I am here at a little coffee shop in Salem and I am supposed to be doing my Greek homework. So I am signing off now. Hopefully I can get something done!
Adios!

Dean Leachman 1987 – 2005
I just found out that one of my students from Texas died this weekend. He struggled with cancer for a good part of his life. He had several large malignant tumors that made his life pretty painful. Nevertheless he was a strong believer and an awesome guy. I praise God for letting me meet Dean on this earth and I look forward to seeing him again in Glory! Cancer-Free!
Longing for the day…

Wow! I have been seriously taken back with all this homework…but not overcome! As of 2 or 3 minutes ago, I am done with my Greek homework (Insert Applause)! Yeah…well the rest won’t last long — I am due at work in a half an hour, and then I have Greek class tonight (where I will get yet another weeks worth of homework). I am starting to get a better grasp of the language, so it isn’t as tedious as it was in the beginning. In fact, it is pretty awesome to be able to crack my Greek New Testament open and understand the words!
So I think I am going to take 17 credits next quarter (yikes!). It will be busy as heck-fire, but I think I am gonna do it anyway. I think I am in the prime to be taking on as much as I can. I don’t have a family, I don’t have a girlfriend, I don’t have a demanding job — The biggest thing on my plate right now is school. So I am gonna attempt to drink out of the “proverbial fire-hose” of information of Oregon Theological Seminary. Wish me luck…it will be hardcore!
O…I wanted to mention a quick little something that I have really praised God for. There is this young couple that just moved to Salem from Texas to start Seminary at OTS. I have gotten the chance to chill with them a bit this week (mostly doing Greek homework) and they are really awesome! We went to Church this week together too which was pretty awesome. It was a nice change from going solo! Anyways…that was just cool. God is continuing to bring some pretty awesome Christian folks into my life.
I think that’s it.

I have been on the go non-stop for the last couple days, and it looks like that’s how things are gonna be for a while. I am really enjoying my Greek class, but man o man, it takes TONS of work! O well…only another 2 years of Greek!
I am looking forward to the payoff. I am heading into the studio in about 45 minutes. That should be sweet. My goal is to have the 4 songs we are working on now completed by the end of February. It is do-able…but it will take some work. But I am also looking forward to the payoff there too. I have really wanted to do this project for a long time, so I am really living a dream now that I have a chance to record here. Thankfully I haven’t had to work too much this last week. But I should be working 25 hours a week from now on. I have a mid term this Thursday that I haven’t studied for yet!! I guess I should do that sometime soon eh?!
Well, I spend way too much time blogging and reading all of your blogs too, but it’s always a treat to keep up. So keep posting and I will try to do the same!
Peace out!
(sorry this was so random!)

Fake people bug me (It bugs me when I am fake too). I think so many people go through life wearing a mask of who they want to be. But there is not hiding your true self. You may be able to fool some people, but it doesn’t do away with who you really are.
I met a fake person a while ago. O well…win some, lose some. I won’t lose any sleep over it…
ADIOS!

I have been thinking about how warped my view is on a lot of things. It has been awesome to dig into the Scriptures and read about what God has to say about everything (almost). One thing that has really struck me is my messed-up view of Satan. Even though it is so stereotypical, I think I still sorta view Satan as a evil man in a little red suit with horns and a pitchfork. Well…maybe that is a little extreme — But I at least view him as an apparently evil Lex Luthor-ish kind of person. Well…fact of the matter is, the Bible describes him so much differently than that! Isaiah 14 calls him the “Star of the Morning”, and even tells of a time when Satan was in heaven. It is so far beyond my thoughts to imagine that Satan was at one point among the hosts of Angels praising God! 2 Corinthians 11:14 says that Satan comes disguised as an “angel of light”. WOW! It just goes to show once more that he doesn’t always approach you as a hissing serpent telling obvious lies. He comes subtly and even presents himself along with “good” things. He is an expert at what he does.
I wonder if it would do any good to just take a little time to re-evaluate how the Devil works…
Peace in Christ.

I bought some Crest Whitestrips the other day and I have used them like 3 times…and now my teeth hurt like a mutha!
So I have been thinking a lot about my music. I have really been motivated lately to use my music to minister to others. It is hard, since I still don’t have a regular Church that I attend, to get plugged in though. Last night I met with a couple musicians who will be working with me in the Studio over the next little while on my current project. I was really excited about that because it really gave me a feel for where the whole project is going. It is such an awesome opportunity to use these gifts to glorify God and build up the Bride. I got a gig at a local coffee shop. That should be cool. It will most likely just be me on my acoustic since it is so small of a place. I am really looking forward to that!
Well, I have to go take a test…
Peace.

Did you ever play that game “Would you rather”? It was always fun to see how disgusting we could get without crossing the line…Ahh, who am I kidding…we crossed the line all the time! Anyway…it was fun to see how bizarre we could get with it. So when you come up with a good one leave a comment so I can use it. Here are a couple to get the ball rolling:
Would you rather eat a whole live mouse, or a whole live bird?
Would you rather have your teeth drilled out or your knee caps sanded off?

Word of the day: Vivace
I had the Caleb Carruth CD once…but I haven’t had it for a year or so, so I ordered another one. It stinkin’ rules! Not too many people have heard of him, but if you get a chance to get a hold on his music, I guarantee you would not be disappointed!
I beseech thee (by the mercies of God) to go to his website and order his CD.
Another one that I ordered at the same time is from Billy & Cindy Foote. They are so great! They led worship at a Student Life Camp I took my students to in Texas. Top shelf lyrics! And Cindy Foote has a killer voice!
WEll that is my little plug for the day.
Word to your mutha’
