Things are underway!

05/30/2005

Wow! Things have been pretty exciting lately! Kesh picked out her dress and we bought it. In fact — right now she is at a friends house showing it off! :) I can’t wait to see her in it! She will be a super hottie-mcnottie! We also booked our venue. It is awesome because the place has an area for the wedding and the reception. It is crazy to actually be making wedding plans!! It is far from hypothetical now. We are actually getting married! I can’t even explain how wonderful it is! I feel like the luckiest man alive! Kesha is such an amazing woman, and everyday I find out more and more that I love about her! I am truly blessed!

School is pretty stressful right now! I have a couple big finals in the next few weeks. I foresee quite a bit of cramming. But hey — that’s what school is for right? :P

Well…I better go hit the books!

Peace,

.:Vin:.

PS. The wedding is on October 6th! Be on the lookout for an invite!

Back from Israel

05/26/2005

So I have been back now for a day and a half. I have sorta recovered from the jet-lag and the 10 hour time difference. I think it will take a few more days before I really get back into the groove. My trip was absolutely AMAZING! There are so many things that I would love to write about, but I feel that if I get going this post would never end. If you are gonna be at Sunday School this week or LIFE_LINK on Wednesday I am going to share more about it then.

Speaking of LIFE_LINK, we got together yesterday again. I think it is our 8th time or so. It is so awesome to see how the Lord is growing that ministry and it is so obvious that people are getting ministered to! Yesterday Grant gave a sweet lesson and we had a great time of worship in song too! I really think that the Lord is doing wonderful things with Ulife!

Well…I guess I should go do something productive. It is early mcnearly for me, but I think I will just tough it out to get back on a normal sleeping schedule.

O…before I forget, I just want to ask y’all to lift up a prayer for Kesha. I think she has a good chance to get this job that she interviewed for yesterday. That would be such a blessing if she got it, so maybe keep her in mind.

Peace out.

On the road again…

05/22/2005

Jordan was beautiful! Definitely worth the extra 3 days! We visited Petra, which has probably been the most majestic site we have seen so far. The whole city was carved out of stone. I will have to post pics when I get a chance. We also got to visit Mt. Nebo which is the place God showed Moses the Promised Land. It was so beautiful!

Now we are back in Israel. We are staying in Eilat, which is right on the Red Sea. Tomorrow we are taking a yacht out and doing some snorkeling and stuff. I am looking forward to that a lot! But what I am looking forward to the most is jumping on a plane tomorrow and heading home to everyone I have been missing! It will be so nice to be back!

This trip has been a tough challenge for me, but it has taught me lots and led me into closer dependence upon the Spirit — and for that I am so thankful! God is so great, and being here in the Holy Land has been a huge blessing!

See y’all when I get home!

Peace out.

Learning lots and lots…

05/20/2005

Man O Man! This trip has been absolutely AMAZING so far! Part of our group left tonight, but the second half of us are going on to Jordan bright and early in the morn and are staying until Monday night. We arrive in Portland on Tuesday. I am pretty stinkin’ excited about that!

I have learned so much on this trip. I have been blessed to stay with 27 of the most amazing men and women ever. In talking with them (mainly the men) I have tried to make a point of getting wise words about marriage. I imagine that combined we must have at least 500 years of marriage in the group. I have been so deeply encouraged by them and they have given me such godly advice. It was interesting to hear a lot of the same advice coming from guys who have marriages lasting longer than I have been alive.

This picture is of the Church of the Nativity. It is the oldest Christian Chruch that is in existence.

The Chruch was built by Constantine’s mother, Helena, in the early 4th Century. To enter in we had to crawl through a small door in a stone wall. Once we entered however, it was the most amazing thing I have ever seen!

Well…tomorrow is an early start, so I had best to hit the hay. I hope y’all are doing well, and I can’t wait to see you all soon — especially my baby ;)

In Him,

Another day without my baby…

05/15/2005

I am really enjoying Israel…but I am going crazy without Kesha. I miss her so much and I’m not even done half the trip :( . One thing that Grant told me before I left is that I would have such a great time here, but I wouldn’t be sad to leave because I get to see my girl again. And that is SO TRUE! I can’t wait to give her a big hug and smooch! I hope that she will be over here with me many times in our lives together — but right now I wish I could just be with her! Well…I am going to go take a lil nappy nap nap. I climbed to the top of the ancient city of Massada today and it took a lot out of me. I will try to post again before I get back.

Here are a few pics of the trip so far…

Aching for my love,

Walking in the Holy Land

05/13/2005

I have been in Israel for 3 days now. It is so amazing to experience this. It is completely different that what I imagined and SO much more than I could have hoped for. So far we have visited Caesarea at the Sea, Capernaum , Nazareth, Galilee, the Mount of Beatitudes , and Caesarea Phillipi (just to name a few). I have seen so much in these few days that if the tour ended now, I would have gotten my money’s worth. I am sorta struggling to take it all in! It is such a great and wonderful land. Now I see how our Lord could call it the land “flowing with milk and honey”. The food is absolutely WONDERFUL!!! I have never tasted such amazing flavors! We have had the luxury of staying at some top-shelf hotels and they always have great food.

One of the most amazing things today was sailing over the Lake of Galilee. It was so special because as we went over it Dr. House read out of the Scripture about Jesus walking on the water. This was the passage that the Lord used to open my eyes to faith in Him. It is amazing that He stood on the very lake that I was on today. He called Peter to Himself from upon the Lake, and He called to me from there. And now — 8 years later, I am here. Even now I sit only a few hundred yards from the lake of Galilee. What a wonderful experience!!

I miss my baby lots — although today Colby and I picked up some sweet dates! It was nice to enjoy them over here away from everyone back home. I love dates, and they grow them right here in Israel :)

Well…I should go grab a few winks before another busy day. Word on the street is this is the last place on our trip I will have internet. I hope it isn’t true, but if it is, I will update you when I get back.

Here are a few pics.

See you in a couple weeks…

05/10/2005

I am off to Israel in a couple hours. I still have a little bit of packing to do. Grant, Tamara, and Kesha are staying up with me and driving me into the Portland airport. It is gonna be really hard to leave Kesha for so long. Especially right after we got engaged!! But is should be ok. I am so glad to go and study over there, but I will be just as happy to come home and see my girl.

Grant just started snoring a little bit. He is on the couch sleeping :)

I don’t know how many opportunities I am going to get to update my blog while I am gone, but feel free to leave me a comment or sign my tagboard.

Off to the Holy Land,

.:Vin:.
