Tonight I have my first gig with my band. We had a couple sweet practices, and things are sounding pretty good. I am excited to see how it goes. I have my buddy Tyler on the Drums, Ryan on Bass, Lance rockin’ the electric guitar and of course yours truly on acoustic and vocals. We are playing at SIP at 8pm tonight. Be there.

I love Kesha more than anything in the world! Everyday I can’t wait to lay eyes on her! She is so sweet and so beautiful! She really does take my breath away! I pray that the Lord would build the bonds of love so strong between us both as we get ready to be married in October. She makes me feel like a little kid sometimes. I just love her so much!

Last night I taught at LIFE_LINK. I thought it went pretty well. I taught on communion with God. I think that a lot of people live without the intimacy of the Lord because they refuse to be delivered. They hold tight onto the chains of bondage that they are so used to, and so they lose their communion with Christ. The worst part is, is that they HAVE BEEN SET FREE! They are no longer bound…but they live like they are.
It is so encouraging to see what the Lord is doing. I have been seeing some serious growth happening. I am really excited to see what is down the road. I know that the Lord has some SERIOUS plans and that is really exciting. He is so good and faithful!
What a gift to enjoy intimate fellowship with God through Christ!

God is so gracious and merciful! I have been experiencing Him in ways I have never before known. It is really quite amazing! Here are a few praises that I want to toss out…
Kesha is the love of my life! She is so beautiful and godly! I love her SOOOO much! I see how she desires the Lord and it make me yearn for Him more! I can’t wait until we are married and she is mine all mine!
Grant & Tamara are the best friends ever! They are the hugest support and encouragement to me! I don’t know what I would do without them. I would have to say that they are some of the best people in the world!
Tonight was the first official “Vin Thomas Band” practice. We jammed out at my house in prep for our gig on Saturday. It was cool to see how the 4 of us, who all love the Lord and seek to glorify Him, can use our gifts to rock out His praise! We have another practice lined up for Friday, and other than that, we are going freestyle on Saturday. The show is at SIP from 8-11 pm on Saturday the 30th. Be there or be like square!
Another huge praise is the possibility of a house for me and Kesha. A couple that we know are moving, and we may be able to move into their place when the leave on Aug. 15th. That would pretty much rock the show! It is a 2 bedroom house that is totally cute and would be a great “1st home” for me and Kesh.
uLife is going so great! It is amazing to see how the Lord is growing that ministry. It belongs to Him! The Lord answered some pretty big prayer requests this week. He is encouraging and ministering to us through uLife.
Also (I know…it’s getting to be a Longie McLongerson), there are some HUGE possibilities on the horizon. I am just praying that the Lord would make a few certain things clear for me. There are some opportunities that would make a dramatic change in my life coming up in the next few months, and I am really anxious to see what the Lord has up His sleeve. Not anxious in a bad way, but excited to be part of what the Lord is doing.
Well, those are just a few of the many things going on in the life of Vin. I hope you are encouraged! The Lord is at work! There is no doubt in my mind. Keep your eye out for His hand and you will find it in everything you do.

Things have been pretty much a mess in my life lately. But in a good way! Who would have thought that God would bring me up to Oregon to meet my wife, make some amazing friends and start a killer ministry? Not me for sure!
Things have been up and down with me lately regarding a lot of stuff. I am beginning to re-evaluate the direction my life has been taking and starting to see that things aren’t always as they seem. But that’s ok, since it’s God who is the One who has a perfect plan, and He is the One that is working in me. He is the one “who wills and works” in me! He is the One accomplishing His will.
What an amazing and humbling thought! The God of the universe can and is using me! It is nearly beyond belief! In fact, if it weren’t for the fact that I can testify to His work here, I probably wouldn’t believe it! But thanks and praises to God who is busy here among us!

So tonight was pretty much awesome! I got to spend it with 3 of my absolute favorites: Kesha, Grant, and Tamara. Kesha decided to make us all some wings — which by the way were honestly the best I have ever had! And then she made us rootbeer floats! Mmm 
After that it was pretty much a huge encouraging ministry chat with Grant. We are so pumped about what God is doing! What an absolute blessing it is to be involved! We have a few prospects to raise some support, so we are really praying about that. I can’t even imagine how awesome it would be to have full-support and be able to do uLife full time!!
In other news, I got a preview track from one of my songs today. I can’t believe how talented my producer is! Derek has a genius mind when it comes to music, and I just get so excited by hearing what ideas he has come up with! I also got the first member of my band. He is a drummer and a real cool down to earth guy. It should work out great. Check us out at Sip on the 30th. We are playing a full-band show, so I am pretty pumped.
Well…I better fake like a metus. I am tired!

I spent a lot of today working on a few songs. I put 5 new ones up on www.vinthomas.com/newtunes . Check em’ out. Let me know what you think.
I have been trying to label what genre my stuff fits into. Recently I have been thinking about putting together a band in Salem, and when I talk to people about my stuff it is hard to tell them what it is like. I say pop or rock or acoustic…but I don’t know if any of it says what I do. I guess you just have to give me a listen sometime.
On that note, if you know anyone in the area who is looking to play bass, guitar, drums, keys etc. in a band, send ‘em my way. I would like to have something together by the time I finish the CD. That way we can start playing some shows and whatnot.

I recognize that the last post was anything but exciting, but hey…that’s the way life goes. Here is another shortie, but at least it has some content.
I am realizing how many awesome servants I know. Spending time with the folks at ulife is such an encouragement to me! I see how they go all out to serve the interests of others. It is crazy! I don’t think I remember a time where I have seen so many hard-core Christians sold out to the Lord. It is really quite a spectacle. Anyway, if you are one of them (and you know who you are), I just want to toss some serious praise up for you! I appreciate your willingness to give it all up for Christ.
