Ouch….

Today we spent 5 hours recording and we only got 1 and a half song done. And that is just vocals. I don’t know why…but I just wasn’t feelin’ it today. Then I went and took some pics for the album with a photographer here. After seeing the pics it just confirmed one thing: I need to start eating better! Seriously!

Today was pretty chillin. Church was good. I got to hear Chris Fowler lead worship, which was quite the experience. I spent some time with Tom, Chris, and Boris (aka Chelsea). We were talking a little bit about what to call the album. Here are our top-picks:
- Once Twice Thrice
- On Earth…Why?
- Take It
- The Early Years
- The Way I Am
- Enter In
- Wishful Thinking
I am leaning towards “Take It” or “The Way I Am”. I guess we’ll see. Drop me a comment and give me your vote. Or even leave a suggestion if you have one that tops ‘em all.
Tomorrow is a busy day. I am recording vocals from 11-4:30 then I am taking pics for the album.
Only a few more days and I come home! I can’t wait to see my Baby!

Man! This CD is really coming together! Just today I hired a friend of mine to design my CD art. He is really good! He is the same guy who plays bass on the album…which sounds sweet by the way! Today we were tracking acoustic tracks. We got a lot done, and should be done with the acoustic tracks by tomorrow. It is starting to sound pretty sweet!
Today we booked our flights for Texas. We are heading down for a few days to present the ministry (www.ulife.org) to the Free Grace Alliance. It is going to be a great experience and a wonderful opportunity to share about what God is doing in Salem through uLife.
I really missed Kesha today. Especially since she got to go hang out and have fun with the whole crew. Less than a week left now! Woo hoo! Tomorrow she starts her job out in Dallas as the Assistant Manager at a new complex. Praise God for providing that awesome position for us! He is so faithful! I am always in awe of the wonderful ways that He provides for His children.
Well…I am gonna go sleepy-time now. I am a tiredsie guy!

Like Ice Cream…

We have been going hard on the record this last week. Today we will spend all day in the studio doing acoustic guitar. I am excited to put that down and see what it sounds like all put together. We have all the drums done – Bass is done – and today we should get most (if not all) of the acoustic done. Then it is time to lay the vocal tracks. After that, it is up to Derek (my producer) to add keys, electric guitar, & loops. Once all the instrumentation is down it will be a matter of mixing and mastering. Bada-boom bada-bing — YOU GOT YOURSELF AN ALBUM! I am excited to know that Derek is gonna go for 11 songs. That is 1 more than I expected. I might leave which song it is as a surprise. I guess you will just have to buy the album once it is out in the fall.
I miss Kesha lots! I wish she was here to chill with me today! I would love to just spend some quality time with her. She has become such a HUGE part of my life that it really feels jacked up not to have her with me at all. At least we have gotten to talk a lot lately. I miss her like crazy mad way…don’t say way.
I know that last line doesn’t make sense. Just accept it and move on.

I know I have been a bad boy. I should have been writing tons of blogs in my spare time, but truth be told, I have been pretty busy. We have 4 songs completely done as far as I am concerned. But we start on the other 6 today. The first 4 were the slower songs that didn’t need much to complete, but these next 6 are gonna be the full-meal-deal! We are spending all day today recording drums. It should be awesome! I am excited to make this CD work. So I am off to the studio. Talk to y’all later!

Well…I have been in Ontario for the last 3 days, and I miss Kesha SOOOOO much! I can’t believe how hard it is being away from her. I can’t imagine how I will feel the day before I go home. I have been pretty unoccupied latley, so most of my time is spent thinking of her! We start recording tomorrow, and after that we will be pretty busy. Maybe that will make things a little better for me. At least then I can have something to think about other than how much I miss my Sweatheart! I will try to keep posted as much as I can, but I don’t have regular access to internet so it may not be as often as usual.
Shout out to all the homies on the west-side!

Crazy Busy Boy

Man O Man! I have been running on fumes lately! It seems that all I have been doing lately is run run run…
I am really excited to go to Ontario on Monday. It is gonna be great to work up there and come back with a great CD. I hope it goes well. My joy over that has been a little overshadowed by my sadness over leaving Kesha. I don’t know how I am going to last 15 days without my Baby! We figured out that we will call several times a day so that we won’t get too lonely 
I really hope she has a great time with me gone. I know that she will be lonely but she has a bunch of good friends here that can keep her company. I’m sure she’ll be fine.
Well…I know this is a pretty pathetic post, but I haven’t been on the internet much at all lately, on Monday night I will be in Ontario working on my CD. I will write again from there!

Chever Starbucks

Kesha and I are getting ready to go to Starbucks. I am pretty excited for that. We have been spending lots of quality time together and I just can’t seem to get enough.
This afternoon I have LOTS of Greek homework to do!
Kesha and I start marriage counseling today. Should be interesting…
I move into my new apartment tomorrow.
Hmmm…that’s about it for now.

Compassion McNassion

Something I have began to realize more and more everyday is that Kesha is by far the most compassionate person I have EVER met! She carries burdens for people that most people would not even notice. Her heart breaks for the weak. She is a defender of the defenseless.
I think that is why she loved working in the hospital so much. She tells me of how she would wash the patient’s wounds and serve them in their darkest hours. She tells me stories of how she would pray with them when they didn’t have the strength to talk. I can’t begin to describe how compassionate she is! It is God in her!
I am praying for her right now as she is in between jobs. She went from the hospital (where she was able to serve others), to a horrible work situation. Now she is looking for a new position. I pray that she will find a position where she can serve others with compassion. That is where her heart is. That is her passion. She needs a job where she is making a difference.
I know that the Lord has big things in store for her. She already helps out SO much in uLife. She is so faithful to the ministry and to the people involved in it. I praise God for her wonderful gift of compassion.
If you think of it, toss up a prayer for her. I know she would appreciate it.
