LAST DAY

11/20/2006

I can’t say how excited I am to be done at Regence! It will free up my time so much for school, ministry, and most importantly — my family! I think this is going to be such a blessed time in our lives. It is a little scary not knowing where our money is going to come from — but I KNOW that the Lord will provide all we need.

Our house is done!!! How incredibly exciting is that?! It is getting appraised today, and then we sign on Tuesday or Wednesday. That is going to be a happy day when we move in there! It is definitely time to ditch the 370 sq foot shack we have been living in!

Life is good!

WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE

11/18/2006

So I have been reading a book lately called “The Dark Side of Calvinism” by George Bryson. It is pretty great. Here are some thoughts that have come up in the last couple days.

In my disdain of Calvinism, I have found one of the most unjust doctrines is that of Election. A true Calvinist would argue:

“God has chosen some to be saved…The choice was unconditional…The choice was made entirely within God…The selection of some for eternal life was made on the basis of unrevealed factors known to God alone.”

This is particularly offensive in that the flip-side is that God must have chosen some NOT to be saved:

“God has chosen some to be damned…The choice was unconditional…The choice was made entirely within God…The selection of some for eternal death was made on the basis of unrevealed factors known to God alone.”

This is not some extreme position I am making up to make them sound worse. This is what they actually believe!

How can we adore a God who treats us like this?

Sounds like crap doesn’t it.

It is.

New Place to Chill!

11/12/2006

So yesterday Kesha and I wanted to go sit down at a coffee shop and hang out for a while – since SIP is closed, and Starbucks doesn’t have internet, we decided to head to Gov Cup. This is always a toss up. Either it is a fine experience, or a horrible one. Last night was horrible. There was an old man who had smells coming out of his body that could kill a rhino. So then we thought we would head down the street to The Beanery (on High St). I was a little reluctant since the last time I went there it was really dumpy and smelled like B.O. — but to my wonderful amazement, it has been newly remodelled and is now the coolest spot in Salem! I LOVE it! In fact, it is nearly 8 am the next day and guess where I am right now? You got it — THE BEANERY!

So I hope to see all of you coming in and supporting this wonderful coffee shop!

Props Beanery. Props.

NEW BUSINESS

11/07/2006

So I am going out on a limb. I am starting a new business to help support us while I finish school. I am actually pretty excited about it because it is something I am pretty passionate about. It is called DESIGNVT. I am going to be designing websites, print, logo’s etc. Pretty much I get to be creative all day! I need tons of prayer about that, because I know from experience how hard it can be to try to make a living without a larger organization behind me.

Anyway — I just thought I would toss that out there. I will post a link to my new site once I have it up and running (give me a couple days).

peace!

WAITING FOR MY ROCKET TO COME

11/03/2006

Well…maybe not my rocket – But I am sitting at a coffee shop waiting for my PowerPoint presentation to send over the wireless Internet. FUN STUFF! I can’t wait to go home and see my Babe! She made some yummy dessert tonight! Pudding Pie! Mmm

I worked today, then had worship practice after that. I feel like I haven’t really seen Kesh all day. I think we will cuddle up and watch some LOST. I hope that doesn’t offend all you 8 year-olds who still think girls have cooties.

Anyway — the file is sent — and I am ready to go home to my woman!

adios!
