A GODLY SERVANT GOES HOME

Last night we lost a wonderful godly man. Tom Drawbaugh was a servant among servants. Everyone at our church knew his warm smiling face and quite demeanor. He had a heart attack and died almost instantly at the age of 62.
My prayers go to the Drawbaugh Family: Joan (his wife), and Tim, Danny, Trish, and Mike (his kids).

That is the word that comes to mind when I look at my two ladies napping on the bed. Kesha and Cohen spent the day at the zoo. They had a great time, but they are both pooped!
I am excited because we just got the AC recharged in the Explorer. The girls have had hot air blowing on them with this 90+ heat. That isn’t cool (I should be a comedian). So now they have the coldest air in town!

ON THE VERGE

Do you ever get the feeling like you are standing on the border to a whole new perspective? I feel that way right now. Over the last couple months I have felt a revolution stirring up in my heart. It has been a very difficult time for me because I feel very confused about life. But I feel like God is bringing about a fresh work in my heart. I am very excited…and curious.

Here is the book I am reading now. It was recommended by a friend – and it is definitely worth the read. It will challenge your thoughts on the way church happens.
And here is my most recent CD purchase. I don’t usually like female vocalists that much. But she is definitely chill. I like her voice. Easy listening. Perfect for driving down the road with my lover girl. I like the song “Realize”.
LITTLE VERSION OF ME

So my little sister got a great idea to move across the country to Toronto, ON all on her own. She got there and things have been less than ideal. The guards at her building wear bullet proof vests. She stepped in human feces in the hallway of her building. Her next door neighbor comes home with prostitutes. And to top it all of — yesterday she witnessed someone get shot in the back of the head by a cop. That was about the last straw. So after a whopping week in Toronto, she is on her way back home to Calgary.
I pray for her lots because I see a lot of myself in her. I remember my days of foolish mistakes that are all too similar to hers. She is an awesome girl and I see so much potential for a full life. She is still very young (19), so I know that there is still lots of time for her to gain some direction.
I thought I would share the story for those who may know her and want to offer up a prayer for her. I invited her to come stay with us for a while. That would be cool — especially since she has never seen little Coco.
That’s about it for now.

I must admit it has been a couple months (at least) since I have written a song. But a couple days ago I brought my guitar home from church and busted out a new tune. It is a worship song that I hope to be able to use for the church. This song is unique because every aspect of the song just poured out right the first time. Usually I end up changing words, or melodies, or tossing out chunks of the song that don’t fit. But this song was right the first time. I don’t think it is anything special or anything…but I do know that God put it on my heart to write. Maybe it is a result of having all this pent up creativity that hasn’t come out in a while.
It is called “New Song”.
If you are a New Harvester you can expect to sing it within the next few weeks. As for the rest of you, I will try to post it here in the next couple days.
