Raise your hand if you spent over $80 today to fill your tank.
This is getting out of hand!

You may have noticed some comments recently from a girl named Emily. She is my 8 year old niece living up in Calgary, Canada. She is a great little girl, and today I set her up with her own blog. You can check it here: http://lilwish.blogspot.com
She was really excited to have a blog. I hope she writes in it often so I don’t forget about her
Peace.

Kesha and I aren’t huge “So You Think You Can Dance” fans. But the other night we saw one performer while channel surfing. This guy is AMAZING! Watch it and be in awe! I can’t even believe the amount of time that must go into this kind of mad skill.

Well, in a little over an hour I turn 27. I can’t believe it! Another year gone by. I guess I say that every year, but each year that passes just seems to fly. Tonight was tons of fun. Kesha planned a nice night with some friends of ours. We all went to a pub and ate great food and drank some yummy drinks. After that we rushed to Costco before they closed and we all got a nut covered ice cream bar. It was freakin BOSS!
Anyway, this is my last post as a 26 year old. I pray this next year is a year that God works miracles in my life.

I am so humbled by the grace of God. Many times in my life I have become so numb to the realities of the cross. I can easily get caught up in enjoying the blessings of God that I lose sight of the incredible cost that was paid for them. I pray that I will be able to see my shame, but not to be destroyed by it. I pray also that I will be able to see the great price that was paid for my freedom.
I know this is a short post, but tonight I am feeling very introspective. I have so many thoughts that it would be hard to stop writing if I really got going…

I feel like the prodigal son. I have wandered so far away from home. I need my Father. I have betrayed the love of my life and I feel helpless to ever know that intimacy again. This is a sad place to be. Today I was listening to a CD that I haven’t listened to in way too long: Shane Barnard // Rocks Won’t Cry. One song in particular just made me start balling in the car today. I can’t even believe how this song progresses. I feel like I am somewhere in the middle of the second verse, but my heart aches to reach the other side…

Prodigal Me
What have I done to get me here?
Unraveled and undone, I need my Father
What have I done? I’ve followed my feet to nowhere
Now I’m here! As I ran, I can run no more
Prodigal me
The mountains to the west, I hear they laugh at me
They know I’mm scared to cross and leave this life I lead
Oh my pride! I give you up a barter for my freedom
What will they think as I come stumbling down to join their lives?
I need to cross this mountain and find my way home
I seek no greater fortune, rescue me
Oh unmerciful divide be merciful tonight
Show me the other side
Prodigal me
The mountains to the east, they’ve swallowed my beloved
This house completely incomplete, where is my mortar?
Where did he go? He followed his feet to nowhere
Please come home! You’ve done me no wrong
Each evening I look down that road
I hope and I wait for you
And my servants they look down that road
We watch and we pray for you
Master, Master, who’s that man stumbling down that road?
Could it be the one? Could it be? Could it be?
Master, Master, it’s Your son
Coming home to join our lives!
I’m looking down this mountain, I see my way home
There is no greater fortune, I believe!
Oh unmerciful divide you laugh at me no more
Oh I’ve reached the other side!
Prodigal me
Could I be the one? Could I be? Could I be?
Father, Father, we’re Your sons
Coming home to join Your life
We’ve finally crossed this mountain, and found our way home
There is no greater fortune than Jesus
Oh how merciful is our God who gave His only Son!
Oh we worship You tonight
Prodigal Me…

That is what I said about the Canon 40D Digital SLR when I realized it was time to upgrade my camera. And I made the move today! I figured it was the perfect time with my Birthday coming up and tax money coming soon. So today, the 40D found a new home in my hands. We are so excited to have it! I bought it along with a 28-135mm lens that is perfect for so many shots. I also got the extended battery grip which adds quite a few nice features. It was a big step for us, but I am sure it will capture many memories in the years to come. Here are some of the first pictures ever to be taken with my baby…

In recognition of this special day put forth by Randy Mooney, I am sharing my senior pics. Well, actually the first is my 11th Grade picture, and the other is from my first year of college. So if we average it out, it is sort of like a senior picture…
