The Summers Always Fly

Is it just me or do summers always just fly by so fast! And it really sucks because Kesha and I are both summer time folks. I love the warm sun and beautiful green trees all around. I am glad my mom got to visit and see her Coey. She arrived back in Calgary at 1am this morning. And now it is back to work 
I like my job, but who wouldn’t like to be on a permanant vacation?!

Here are some pictures from the Marc Broussard concert. It was AMAZING! We didn’t stay to hear much of the other band (Sharon Jones & the Dapkings???). If you still haven’t gone out and bought yourself a copy of Carenco you deserve a punch in the throat.

Mum’s the Word!

My mom is here from Canada! She arrived a couple days ago and we are having a blast! Tonight we are going to go see Marc Broussard live at the Oregon Zoo. It will be amazing I’m sure! We have some nice plans for the next 5 days too. We are going to go to Seaside to enjoy the beach, Florence to ride the dunes, and Melting Pot for some yummy fondue! I wish my mom could visit more often 
Man O man…one thing about having company is that it makes us realize how TINY our house is. We don’t even have 1000sq feet. And that is not much room to share between two parents, an adventurous toddler, a hyper dog, a skitzo kitty, and company!
Sorry for being a lame blogger lately…it has been a VERY hectic season in my life. So please don’t abondon my blog…I promise to write more!

Have you heard of Marc Broussard? If you have kept up with my blog, you probably know who he is. He is one of my all time favorite artists. He is a southern rock/funk singer with an AMAZING voice. Last time I visited my family I gave a couple of his CD’s to my Mom. She was instantly hooked! We made a deal that if he was ever playing in either Calgary or Portland that the other one would make the trip for the concert. Anyway, he is playing at the Oregon Zoo on Friday July 25th. So my mom booked her flight and she is coming down for the concert. I am sure seeing her little grand-daughter won’t be bad either I took a week of work so it will be tons of fun!

Have you heard of GrooveShark? If not, you should check out the website. If you are a music lover this site will be a great addition to your favorites. I have used sites like Pandora and Last.FM in the past, and I still actually use Pandora quite a bit. But here is where GrooveShark takes the lead: although online radio stations have customizable stations based on artists, GrooveShark lets you pin it down to individual songs!!! You can type in any song you wish, and I have yet to find a single song they don’t have. You can listen to the entire song and online and decide to purchase it DRM free for only $.99 (same as iTunes without the DRM).
