I figured it is never too early to reserve domain names for the girls. Their names are unique enough that the probably won’t get taken. But just in case, I thought I’d register them. For only $10/year it’s a worthwhile investment.
I figured there’s no sense in letting the domains just site there, so I set them each up with a Tumblr account. Kesha and I will try to keep the updated with pictures, video, and other cute things they say and do.

I know there are lots of folks out there who read my blog but never comment — trust me, I have the stats to prove it. Or what’s almost worse is when you do comment but don’t have a Gravatar.
Anyway, for those of you who have thought of commenting, but haven’t up to this point — it is now even easier! I have added Facebook Connect and Twitter login to my site. All you have to do is click the button near the comment form, and comment away!

I hope to have more of you leaving comments now.

You may have noticed some comments recently from a girl named Emily. She is my 8 year old niece living up in Calgary, Canada. She is a great little girl, and today I set her up with her own blog. You can check it here: http://lilwish.blogspot.com
She was really excited to have a blog. I hope she writes in it often so I don’t forget about her
Peace.

I was talking with some friends over a night of coffee, wine, cheese, chocolate, and mongolian grill about blogging. They used to blog here and there, but I guess it never really caught on in their lives. They asked us what it was that made us blog. So here is my answer…
I blog…
- to share news about my life
- to let off steam
- to share pictures
- to keep in touch with friends
- to learn about others (via commenting and polls, etc)
- to post videos
- so my family in Canada doesn’t forget about me
- so my friends in Australia (and other places) can keep up on the Thomas-Clan (yes we are a “Clan” now)
- to post new music
- to share struggles in my life
- to share victories in my life
- to share about cool things I come across
- because it is therapeutic
- because I like designing my blog
Those are just a few reasons. I am sure there are other reasons that I can’t think of right now (reasons that are tucked away deep in my subconscious mind). But I am pretty sure blogging will be around forever. And I hope I can keep up with it. I have gone through a few ups and downs in the blogging realm — but overall I feel I have been pretty consistent.
So this is my 570th blog entry. I hope you enjoy my blog and continue to visit.
outie.

So I thought I would talk about another way you can stalk me (as if this blog, twitter, myspace, facebook, etc isn’t enough). Let me ask you a question…what do you know about RSS? Nicknamed “Really Simple Syndication”, RSS is a great way to keep up with your favorite sites. You may have heard it as a “Feed” also. What you do, is find a site that offers a RSS feed. Typically there will be this image indicating that you can subscribe to someones RSS:

Once you click it, you can choose which “reader” you want to use. I use Google Reader for myself. I like it best because it is simple and you can access it from anywhere. Then, when someone posts to their site, you can view the content right there in your Reader. It is really cool. I have a little google gadget that allows me to read all my friends blogs right on my google homepage. It is pretty sweet. So if you want to really get your stalk on, subscribe to my rss feed. And don’t worry…chances are if you read my blog I am already stalking you!
Peace!
PS. I made it real easy for you to find my feed. Check out my sidebar.
