We had such a wonderful time this weekend in Eagle Crest. The trip was such a relaxing time for the whole family. Kesha and I were dying to just take a break. Here are a few pics from our trip.
Kesha is even more beautiful than the mountain.
The food wasn’t half bad.
Cohen’s candy necklace was her second favorite part of the trip.
Her favorite part was swimming in the hot tub.
Isla decided to join us for a dip too.
Can’t wait to go back.
Today is my wonderful wife’s birthday. I love Kesha so much! She is such an amazing woman. I truly thank God for her. She is a super kind, sensitive, and fun! She is the best mom in the world. She is my closest friend and someone that I can always count on.
I read an awesome book recently called “Crush It” by Gary Vaynerchuk (actually I listened to it on audio). There were so many great moments in this book. This guy’s passion is infectious. If you don’t know who he is, be sure to check out this clip of him on Conan.
One thing he said during the course of his book that stood out to me was about how our lives online are being documented forever. They are going to be a piece of our legacy. This is something that previous generations didn’t have. Our blogs, Twitter feeds, Facebook statuses, photos, videos — ALL OF IT is being stored and will part of the legacy we leave behind.
It’s crazy to think that not only will my kids be able to see howKesha and Ifeel in love, but my great great great grandchildren will be able to see in detail all the random details of my life. Very cool — but kind of scary too.
So what kind of online legacy are you leaving? Is it something you’ll look back on and be proud of?
P.S. I set up a blog for my dad that he used a little bit. He didn’t post often, and he didn’t start it long before he died. But it’s something that I can read that brings me comfort and reminds me of how great my dad was. http://grandpasnook.blogspot.com/
It is hard to believe that a little over 5 years ago I was preparing to move to Salem. My plan was to go to Seminary and then move on with my life. Obviously God has other plans. Soon after I moved here I met an amazing woman. She became my best friend almost instantly. I fell head over heels, and I asked her to marry me only months after meeting her. To my amazement, she said yes. And now, it has been 4 incredible years.
We have some serious ups and downs during this time. We have had amazing things happen, and horrible things happen. But through it all, God has kept us together. We have held on to each other through all life has thrown at us. Here’s just a little bit of the last 4 years of our lives.
Awesome Wedding
Great Honeymoon in Mexico
Moved from apartment, to apartment, to apartment, to house (all renting)
Bought our first house
Gone through several jobs
Cohen and Isla were born
Riley and Schmeentzy came and went
Kesha and I both started businesses
Bought our second house (about to move in)
And that is just a small look into the last 4 years!
I can’t wait to get all wrinkly with my wonderful wife. She is truly my best friend and the love of my life.
Last night at about 3am Kesha felt we needed to head to the hospital. She was having some mad contractions and thought she might be in labor. When we got here they checked her and she was definitely in labor and going to have a baby soon. So now it is 9:30am — her water broke, she has an epidural, and she is progressing nicely. By the end of the day we will have our little baby Isla in our arms.
We had a bunch of fun tonight playing at Riverfront park. We even bit the bullet and rode the carousel. Cohen loved it! She wanted to ride the Zebra, but when it came time to hop on she got a little scared. We ended up riding in the wagon instead.
On another note, Kesha is 7 months along. Only 2 months left until we set our eyes on our beautiful Isla Reese. We are so ready to meet her face to face. Kesha has such an amazing glow about her.
I just got a call from Kesha and she just found out her dad died. He was found in his apartment today. Please pray for Kesha as I know this will be an incredibly hard time for her. I am still in Canada and don’t get in until 11pm tomorrow, so I am worried about her. Please lift her up in your prayers as she goes through this loss.
