We had such a wonderful time this weekend in Eagle Crest. The trip was such a relaxing time for the whole family. Kesha and I were dying to just take a break. Here are a few pics from our trip.
Kesha is even more beautiful than the mountain.
The food wasn’t half bad.
Cohen’s candy necklace was her second favorite part of the trip.
Her favorite part was swimming in the hot tub.
Isla decided to join us for a dip too.
Can’t wait to go back.
I ran across these old school pictures a while ago. This brings back memories of high school when I first met my friend Tom Loewen. We were involved in worship ministry together and ended up being great friend.
Today is my wonderful wife’s birthday. I love Kesha so much! She is such an amazing woman. I truly thank God for her. She is a super kind, sensitive, and fun! She is the best mom in the world. She is my closest friend and someone that I can always count on.
I love my mother-in-law. She is such a wonderful, loving, and kind woman. She decided on a whim to call me up and offer to come watch the girls so Kesha and I can go on a date. How awesome is that?
My dad was known for his peace sign. He was a bit of a hippie. His greeting was not a wave, but his two fingers in the air. Peace.
John Fehlen spoke on peace yesterday at church. I was convicted a few things in my life. I know I can be contentious at times and not always easy to get along with. I can be sarcastic, rude, and even a bit of an A. But that is not the person I desire to be. And I know that is not honorable to God.
Today in my reading I came across a great verse in Galatians:
“Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.” – Galatians 5:26
I think of my Dad as my greatest role model. In his later years he was a man of incredible peace. He was also generous, kind, loving, and compassionate. He didn’t think of himself first. I don’t think he had a single enemy in the world. Even people who had done him wrong in the past, he forgave.
He had a peace that surpasses understanding. He had the peace of God.
Yesterday we had a great Thanksgiving at our house. At one time we had 16 people running around our place. It was awesome! There would be NO WAY for us to pull that off at our old house. I am so thankful we have a place big enough to entertain. Here are a few snaps from the day:
It is hard to believe that a little over 5 years ago I was preparing to move to Salem. My plan was to go to Seminary and then move on with my life. Obviously God has other plans. Soon after I moved here I met an amazing woman. She became my best friend almost instantly. I fell head over heels, and I asked her to marry me only months after meeting her. To my amazement, she said yes. And now, it has been 4 incredible years.
We have some serious ups and downs during this time. We have had amazing things happen, and horrible things happen. But through it all, God has kept us together. We have held on to each other through all life has thrown at us. Here’s just a little bit of the last 4 years of our lives.
Awesome Wedding
Great Honeymoon in Mexico
Moved from apartment, to apartment, to apartment, to house (all renting)
Bought our first house
Gone through several jobs
Cohen and Isla were born
Riley and Schmeentzy came and went
Kesha and I both started businesses
Bought our second house (about to move in)
And that is just a small look into the last 4 years!
I can’t wait to get all wrinkly with my wonderful wife. She is truly my best friend and the love of my life.
